🛡️ Safari Content Blocker
Content Blocker automatically blocks trackers and ads in Safari, without requiring any further action after activation.
How to enable Content Blocker:
- Open Settings Go to the Settings app on your iPhone
- Navigate to Safari Scroll down to Safari in the settings list
- Open Extensions Tap on "Extensions"
- Find PrivacyInsights Content Blocker Look for "PrivacyInsights Content Blocker" in the list
- Toggle the switch Turn on the switch to enable blocking
✓ Done! Content Blocker will now automatically block trackers and ads in Safari.
📊 Safari Web Extension
Web Extension provides statistics and control over blocking directly in Safari.
How to enable Web Extension:
- Open Settings Go to the Settings app on your iPhone
- Navigate to Safari Scroll down to Safari in the settings list
- Open Extensions Tap on "Extensions"
- Find PrivacyInsights Look for "PrivacyInsights" in the list
- Toggle the switch Turn on the switch to enable the extension
- Choose permissions Select "Allow" for all websites (or choose per website)
🎯 Using Safari Extension
When browsing in Safari, you can open the PrivacyInsights Extension at any time:
- Tap the aA button Tap the "aA" button in the address bar
- Select PrivacyInsights Choose "PrivacyInsights" from the menu
- View statistics View statistics on blocked requests and custom rules
🔄 Custom Rules Synchronization
When you block domains in Cookie Inspector:
1. Rules are saved
Rules are automatically saved in the app
2. Extension fetches rules
Safari Extension fetches rules automatically
3. Rules are remembered
Rules persist even when app isn't running
4. Statistics update
Statistics are shown in Extension popup
🔧 Troubleshooting
If the Extension isn't working as expected:
- Check that both extensions are enabled in Settings
- Try disabling and re-enabling the extensions
- Restart Safari
- Ensure the app has run at least once after installation
💡 Tip: If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This resets all extensions.
